I was lucky enough to be able to help out all day! Man, do 22 Kindergarteners sure wear you out! I was exausted by the end of the day that I came home and took a nap. Now I know why that first week of school David did the same thing! Anyway, at 9am they all went to the cafeteria for a sing along. (Can you say, "public school chaos?") At about 10am they came back to the classroom and had a cupcake and made glitter trees. Then, at 11am they had a pizza party for lunch and headed outside for recess.
At noon Santa came! I thought it was really funny because when we had our ward christmas party David knew that it was his grandpa. Today at school, he couldn't keep his eyes off of this "different" Santa and smiled the whole time! It was great! He didn't even wait to be called and just got right up there and sat on his lap!
Only a couple of kids were actually able to sit on his lap, but they sang "Rudolph, the Red nosed Reindeer" to him before he left. After Santa left, the kids took turns passing out the little goodies they brought from home to put in each others stockings! Off to PE at around 1pm and when they came back they made cute little reindeer hats! Somewhere between all of the fun, the office decided they wanted to do a fire drill! Some of the girls were scared and one of them was crying almost hysterically! After all of the commotion, we headed back into the classroom to gather everything together to go home! All in all, it was a pretty well behaved class considering all that was going on. I would have to say that the day was pretty good!
